Starter set #6 is the basic set to which you can add additional sets. The extension sets assume you have all the previous sets (i.e., the manual for extension set 10A has designs which need the blocks from sets #6, #6A, and #8A). However, if you buy extension set #10, you certainly do not need to have any other sets to build endless designs from your own imagination. The system of basic and extension boxes enables each individual builder to adapt the sets to his specific capabilities and needs.

The beautiful color manual is made from the original wooden block prints and has many diagrams of buildings you can make that are appropriate to that set.
