A set of five delightful miniature mohair friends, inspired from drawings made by Richard Steiff at the Stuttgart area zoo. While a student at the School of Art in Stuttgart, he would often visit the nearby zoo, always taking his sketch book with him. All of his sketches and studies of the animals were extremely lifelike and clearly illustrate Richard’s fascination with and great interest in animals' stances and movements. Posture and pose were extensively detailed by Richard in his sketches.

The Steiff zoo set is made of high-quality mohair, and where necessary is skillfully cropped, giving the five animals their realistic and unmistakable look. The collection includes a 6" giraffe, bear, and elephant, and a 7" lion and camel, all wearing the famous gold plated Button in Ear.

Comes with a certificate and box that can be used to display the animals.
