The little tumbling man somersaults backwards down the stairs as arms and legs move in a precise sequence of handstand, back flip, and recovery. The mechanical system of propulsive movement was developed by Wolfgang Werner and is patented. This delicate acrobat interacts with its user, who must select the best starting point on the platform and adjust the depth of steps to produce a smooth transition down the stairs. When not in use, the stairs close and the little tumbling man is carefully folded and stored inside. An original creation from the folk art collection of the Werner workshop in the Erzgebirge.
